Treadway, one of 13 certified candidates seeking six council seats in Kenora’s Oct. 26 municipal election, has faced criticism over comments made during podcast appearances and discussions with guests. Kenora resident Tania Cameron, a member of Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation, has described some of Treadway’s statements about residential schools as denialism and raised concerns about other comments involving First Nations communities.
