By Sam Laskaris Writer A new professional American box lacrosse league that has committed to building meaning relationships with Indigenous communities will launch this coming January. But it remains to be seen what sort of impact the American Box Lacrosse League (ABLL) will have on the amateur and established Ontario-based Arena Lacrosse League (ALL). The ALL features three squads that play their home contests out of the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena, including the defending league champion Six Nations Snipers. The Ohsweken Bears and Paris RiverWolves also stage their home matches at the Six Nations facility. Both the Snipers and Bears traditionally have numerous First Nations players on their rosters.
