Woodland Cultural Centre seeking $1 million donation from Six Nations

The Woodland Cultural Centre is hoping Six Nations will make a major contribution to its capital campaign to fund a new cultural centre and museum building. Heather George, executive director of the Woodland Cultural Centre didn’t ask for a specific amount, but told Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) at the General Council meeting on May 28th that the City of Brantford’s CAO has asked for a proposal for a commitment of $1 million over five years. “We would obviously like to be able to submit a similar request to band council. We do know that that is a large ask but we are asking for a commitment of multiple years, not for it all at once,” she said.
