Mercury levels in Lake Temiskaming raising concerns

The Organisme de bassin versant du Temiscamingue (OBVT), which is mandated by the Quebec government to monitor the water quality of Lake Temiskaming and its watershed, is reaching out to raise awareness in both Quebec and Ontario about mercury levels in the water body. “We are using data to inform the public and stakeholders about mercury-related health and ecological concerns,” biologist and environmental project coordinator Akib Hasan said in an email interview.
