Loss of Cape Breton Mi’kmaw fashion icon felt deeply by community

Audrey (Heidi) Marshall, who most recently organized the fourth annual Finding our Identity fashion show at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion in May that drew hundreds of people, died on August 5 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. As word of the active 65-year-old’s death spread over social media, dozens of people honoured Marshall with words about her support, encouragement and advocacy for Mi’kmaw law and culture.
