By Lynda Powless Editor Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) is seeking to join a class action lawsuit launched by two community members against the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Chiefs Council’s (HCCC) development group. The move could result in both the “Men’s Fire” and SNEC facing off in a legal battle against the HCCC . SNEC (described in the suit as Six Nations of the Grand River Band of Indians), is seeking to join the lawsuit, launched Aug., 14, 2026, by community members Wilf Davey and Bill Monture, against the Haudenosaunee Development Institute (HDI), the development arm of the HCCC and its former employees or directors.
