Yukon government hands new policing priorities to RCMP

According to a Sept. 25 Justice Department news release, the government has set three main priorities for police in the territory: Enhancing public safety and community confidence. Targeted policing of organized crime, drug trafficking and serious offenders. Policing in communities through strong relationships. The release says the priority list was developed after a lengthy consultation process between the government, RCMP, communities, First Nations Governments and other stakeholders across the Yukon.
