Ashern hospital expansion adds beds, expands emergency care capacity

The project, delivered in phases, has increased the hospital’s inpatient beds from 14 to 26 and expanded the emergency department from five treatment spaces to 13. Health officials say the upgrades will improve patient flow, enhance care delivery and allow more people to receive treatment closer to home. “For our inpatient unit, we had gone from 14 to 26 inpatient beds.
