By Brenna Owen The wildfire evacuation zone along the shores of Okanagan Lake in British Columbia’s Interior expanded south on Thursday, with emergency crews guiding people away from a complex of blazes in the area where hundreds of homes were destroyed last weekend. An update from the Central Okanagan emergency management centre on Thursday said upgraded evacuation orders applied to two dozen properties along Westside Road in the Shelter Cove, Secret Point and Cinnabar Creek areas on the western side of the lake. The latest orders mean more than 2,600 people have been forced out of their homes due to the out-of-control Quilpituk Creek fire.
