But many people across the country still lack awareness about the risks they face and the steps they can take to prepare for them. The summer of 2023 has been marked by record-breaking wildfires, floods and heat waves across Canada. As natural hazards and extreme weather events increase in frequency and severity across the country, there’s no shortage of educational initiatives aimed at helping Canadian households and communities learn about and prepare for these risks.
