By Rosemary Godin, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter, Cape Breton Post Membertou First Nation and Horizon Naval Engineering are about to acquire one of the Canadian shipbuilding industry’s leading design firms. The deal to buy Genoa Design International, the Digital Ship Experts, a 30-year-old leading detail design and 3D modelling firm, is scheduled to be completed by Jan. 31. The acquisition is subject to the completion of purchase agreements and satisfaction of closing conditions.
