Issue of Metis recognition haunting First Nations’ organizations

Metis potentially receiving First Nation’s status and rights continues to dominate conversions at First Nation’s political meetings and Six Nations is at the forefront. Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) members attended meetings for the Chiefs of Ontario (COO), Assembly of First Nations (AFN) and, Iroquois Caucus in the last three weeks and the Metis issue was brought up at all of them, which SNEC discussed at its Political Liaison meeting on December 11.
