By Dionne Phillips Local Journalism Initiative Reporter On the heels of the province’s worst wildfire season in 2023, Premier David Eby stressed the importance of preparedness and proactiveness during an announcement held at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops (T?emlups). At the event on April 4, the premier announced the creation of a new wildfire training and education centre at the university, which the B.C. government says is the first of its kind in North America.
