By Helen Miller If we fail our children, we are bound to fail our present, future, faith, cultures and civilizations.” Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) is failing our children, and we are allowing it to happen. For decades the federal government imprisoned our children in residential schools. The goal was to assimilate the children into the white society thereby “getting rid of Indians.” Children and families and the Six Nations community continue to deal with the intergenerational trauma.
