By Lynda Powless Editor In a surprising move Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) learned the federal government was investing in a 30-unit housing complex on the same property now home to a large-scale cannabis grow-op and community members weren’t consulted. Last week Six Nations community member Nancy Porter, waving a document, asked SNEC if it knew a housing development may go up on the controversial Fourth Line cannabis property. Six Nations Elected Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill told her, no. “First I’ve seen it,” Elected Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill said. The issue arose during community concerns over a large-scale cannabis operation on the same Fourth Line property resurfaced at SNEC’s June 10th meeting.
