The municipality is hosting a free Game 1 watch party Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Burford Community Centre to cheer on hometown hero Adam Henrique. The Oilers’ centre got his start playing minor hockey in Burford, a rural community 60 kilometres west of Hamilton. He remains involved in the community, hosting the annual Henrique Montour Golf Classic in support of children in Brant and Six Nations of the Grand River each summer. “Wear your Oilers gear, bring your energy, and get ready for a great night of community spirit and playoff hockey!” the county posted on Facebook.
