No answers after car catches fire in Port Dover parking lot

By J.P. Antonacci, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter, A car caught fire in a Port Dover parking lot earlier this month, and officials are at a loss to explain why. A sport utility vehicle parked in the Elmer Lewis Parkette off Main Street burst into flames around 10:30 p.m. on March 16, according to the Norfolk County Fire Department. Small  popping sounds could be heard as flames devoured the driver’s side of  the vehicle, sending several flaming pieces rolling along the asphalt. Firefighters were on scene  within minutes of the 911 call and had the fire out about 10 minutes  later. No other cars were damaged, and the flames did not spread to any  nearby buildings.
